Infrared Sauna
An infrared sauna is a type of sauna that uses infrared heaters to emit infrared light experienced as radiant heat, which is absorbed directly by the surface of the skin. Unlike traditional saunas, which heat the body indirectly by warming the air or by using steam, infrared saunas directly warm the body, allowing for a deeper penetration of the heat at a lower temperature. This method of heat delivery is said to provide various health benefits more efficiently. The temperatures in infrared saunas typically range from about 120°F (49°C) to 140°F (60°C), which is lower than the temperature range of a traditional sauna. This lower temperature makes the sauna experience more tolerable to some people, allowing for longer sessions and potentially enhancing the therapeutic benefits.

Benefits:

-
Improve heart health. Infrared saunas mimic exercise (similar to walking at a moderate rate) with increased heart rate, widened blood vessels, and increased blood flow. This can help boost heart health and reduce blood pressure.
-
Relieve chronic pain: Studies show improvement in people with chronic pain after regular infrared sauna therapy.
-
Relaxation: Sitting in a cozy warm infrared sauna is good for the soul. It also has been shown to decrease stress, anxiety and depression.
-
Reduce oxidative stress: Sauna's have been shown to reduce oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can lead to chronic illness, degenerative disease, cancer, and cardiovascular disease. This is a great adjunct to other nutritional reducers of oxidative stress such as Glutathione and Vitamin C.
-
Boost Immune System: Studies show that regular sauna use can help strengthen the immune system by increasing white blood cells, increasing core body temperature.
-
Detoxification: Infrared promotes a deeper level of detox, especially heavy metals, than traditional saunas. Infrared waves penetrate deep to eliminate toxins that accumulate and disrupt well- being--from toxic heavy metals, drug residues, environmental toxicants, and hormone disruptors. Also supports lymphatic drainage and supports the body’s detox systems.
-
Weight loss: Infrared saunas mimic exercise. This helps the body burn calories and supports a healthy weight loss. This is helpful for those that can not participate in traditional exercise programs.
-
Skin Purification: Near infrared lights help remove dead kin cells, dirt, oil, and bacteria. The increased circulation to the area also helps to reduce the appearance of scars.
-
Repair Muscles Faster: Many professional athletes use Sunlighten saunas to recover from their training and injuries as infraredpenetrates joints, improves flexibility, relieves muscle soreness, and aids in tissue regeneration.
-
Improve Sleep Quality. The time you spend in your sauna can help you get better rest by creating a routine that supports relaxation and a healthy circadian rhythm you want to enjoy.
