Folic Acid

Unhealthy diet, alcohol consumption,  GI malabsorption disorders and certain medications can lead to folic acid deficiency


Signs of Deficiency:

  1. Fatigue
  2. nausea/vomiting/diarrhea after meals
  3. cognitive impairment, dementia, depression
  4. Grey hair
  5. Mouth sores
  6. Poor growth
  7. Swollen or sore tongue
  8. Severe birth defects
  9. increased atherosclerosis risk
